My son, Chris ... is HOME

For those who have written me and are following my *Family Affair* (giggles)...

I picked my son, Chris up at the airport in the a.m. on Tuesday, October 17! As a reminder, he is returning home for R&R after a year in Iraq.

Chris was stationed in Hawaii (where he returned to from his one year Iraq experience the middle of September) and made it through the earthquake crisis to get on his scheduled flight to Ohio (HOME!). Things were a bit shaky there on Sunday when all flights were canceled and his island was totally out of power (Oahu), but he was able to board Monday night, and he arrived in Ohio close to 10 a.m. Tuesday morning, back to his family where he belongs.

Me & Chris:


He is experiencing a bit of anxiety at times related to post traumatic stress (he did experience some combat), but is otherwise our same Chris! We'll be able to help him release what he needs to while embracing his growth from his experience (which he's well on the way to doing) - he's here till November 14.

We're hijacking him for the entire weekend... In fact, we are leaving as soon as hubby Rob gets home from work today to travel to my sister's (and family) a couple hours away (where 3 kids will be tacking Chris to the ground, I'm sure, as soon as we arrive). We'll spend the night and continue on our journey another two+ hours to southern Ohio where Chris' sister, Renee is finishing up college at Miami U. She'll be showing off her new apartment and taking bro and parents to see the sights.

Anyway, I wanted to step in and say HI and let those interested know that Chris has returned safely as we all intended, Iraq and earthquake or NOT!

Fashion icon? Heeheee - I think NOT!)!

From Fear to Success

$2,500 cash just arrived at my door. It's October 13, 2006 and a Friday at that! Friday the 13th unlucky? I don't think so!

I have never been involved in an activity that has such power to literally abolish all personal financial disasters of the past and propel one into the realm of dreams so quickly.

Often, that deep level of financial healing and abundance requires a leap of faith larger, longer and wider than one has ever taken before. Scary? For some, you betcha! I've talked to as many wonderful people who became members as those equally beautiful who said they were ready to join, but then quietly disappeared off the face of the planet once instructions to do so were given.

I remember my own experience...

After listening to the live information call, I literally knew that this activity was for me. There was no question in my mind, and it felt right in my heart. I'd have the opportunity to receive wealth into my life, as well as open that same magical door for others. I got back in touch with my inviter and asked how to get started immediately.

As I started setting up my membership to begin my journey, I felt the first twinges of fear. I told myself, "You know, once you start this, there's no going back. You're borrowing the funds to start, and you absolutely have to succeed in order to pay it back. Do you really want to do this? Do you really think you can?" And on and on. I continued to move forward, got myself into the structural system, paid my hosting fee, and contemplated my future. Gulp! The banks were closed for the day at this point, so I had all night to think about it.

I awoke the next morning knowing what I was going to do, and even though I was scared, I was determined to follow through. "I can do this! I can do this!" reverberated through my head. I prepared my statements and envelope, and took off for the bank to pick up my borrowed funds. When those funds were safely in the hands of Fed Ex, I felt both exhilarated by the new life I was now creating, and exhausted by how much energy it took for me to actual begin it. There was no turning back - Yikes!

Since that time, I've come to realize the steps I unconsciously took to prevent fear from overwhelming and keeping me from succeeding.

I decided on financial freedom once and for all.

The price of staying the same was too awful to contemplate. I was so tired of this and so sick of that, that my desire and hunger to finally make a break for freedom was absolutely HUGE.

I made a clear choice, a definitive decision, and a firm and unwavering commitment to myself.

Lack of commitment creates weakness and leads to failure. I decided I was going to learn to perform this activity from an inner stance of strength, do it from my heart, and I was going to practice it over and over until I succeeded.

I burned my bridges.

I made it impossible for myself to give up. I had a loan to repay to a family member.

I kept the faith in me.

I believed I could succeed because I already knew I had the ability to learn new skills and work hard. I knew all I had to do was apply what I learned consistently and persistently, and success had no choice but to show up in my life.

I took actions everyday.

Inaction leads to fear and creates failure. I invited people to learn about my activity everyday and I found new ways of doing so by continuing my education.

I didn't entertain thoughts of doubt.

Whenever doubt tried to creep in, I slammed the door in its face using these strategies:

-I dwell on what IS working well in my life and what I'm grateful for.
-I keep my environment as free from negativity as possible. I limit reading newspapers or watching the news.
-I repeat affirmative statements in my mind daily.
-I visualize and feel myself getting exactly what I want everyday.
-I surround myself with positive people who believe in me and what I'm doing, and who are also movers and shakers themselves - they're not just talking, they're doing, just like me.
-I read self affirming and empowering books every week.
-I listen to motivational, inspirational, and educational audios and CDs regularly.
-I watch can-do, triumphant and educational movies.
-I continue to place my own faith and belief above and beyond others' failure talk, thought or negativity.

I know that practicing something eventually puts that action on AUTOPILOT.

Walking used to take supreme concentration when I was a wee one. And of course, I do it unconsciously now. Learning to ride a bike and drive both required that same focus, and are now automatic. Driving in a new city, starting a new job, knitting... they all become just a part of who we are and what we do naturally when the actions required are repeated often enough.

How to Tell if an Opportunity is Right for You

I've had the experience of trying this program and that... many failing... many thousands of dollars lost... and sometimes I just didn't feel right about one or more of them for some reason, and chose to leave even though I'd already invested in them to *test drive* them.

Regardless of the reasons, all the above experiences led to lost time, energy and money. Here's how to help prevent similar experiences in your own life.

No opportunity is for everyone. We all have different tastes, different ways of marketing or inviting others into our circle of influence that are comfortable to us, and different ideas about the ways in which websites, businesses, and newsletters should be run. We simply don't all agree.

HINT: There's a first clue in the previous sentence. What DOES agree with you? Have you actually defined it yet? Before you join another opportunity, take a few minutes to do so! I'll help you below...

1. Due Diligence

FIRST, thoroughly investigate every bit of information that is available on the opportunity you are considering. If there's a presentation call, get on it, more than once if you have to! If there's a tour of this program, take it and read every word on every page that is offered to you. Then and only then are you ready for step two.

2. HYPE (based on MONEY)

Are you listening strictly to the hype about how much money they say you can earn and in how much time? That's OK... There are MANY people who can probably prove they've lived up to the hype (testimonials), thereby validating the hype itself. But don't stop there! That's not enough to base your decision on. Move to the next step!

3. Logic versus Feeling

Your absolute most useful tools are your LOGIC working right alongside WITH your gut FEELINGS.

a. What you right now believe about YOURSELF is first and foremost and the ULTIMATE question (do you BELIEVE you are capable of following in their footsteps and achieving some measure of success?);

b. Based on your past experiences, do you believe HOW THEY say you can duplicate what they do (did they have a big list of people to market to BEFORE they even came in that they're not telling you about? Be logical as you read between the lines - I've allowed myself to be a victim of this MANY times!).

What does your logic tell you, and what does your feeling tell you? Take a piece of paper and draw a line down the middle. Write your logical thoughts on one side, and how you FEEL about those thoughts on the other. Keep writing until your thoughts naturally stop, and you have nothing more to write.

HINT: Most times, when we look back, we realize we were given WARNING signals before joining those opportunities that didn't turn out well for us. Those warning signals may have been subtle, but they were there in some form of discomfort.

**Discomfort in itself does not negate any opportunity - it could just be your own fear talking! OR your discomfort could be an intuitive signal to stay away from the PERSON who is an affiliate or member that is inviting you, even when the opportunity itself is a fit!

Whatever it is, even if you can't define it ... at this stage, pay attention to ANY discomfort, write about it until the flow stops, and then move on to the next step.

4. Hope versus Knowing

All right, at this point, you've gotten past the hype and took a really good look at your logical thoughts as well as your feelings about a particular opportunity (or inviter!). Let's see where you have landed...

a. Do you now think maybe you can do it?
b. Do you want to give it a try?
c. There certainly is the potential to work for you...
d. It might be fun to try it out...

or

e. Do you absolutely know beyond a shadow of a doubt that you can do this and will succeed at it because it's such a fit, and that is true no matter how much of a learning curve there is to learning how to do it in the way that suits YOU the best (even if that means you have to find a different sponsor)?

If you answered A or B or C or D ... DON'T DO IT!!! You will waste time, energy, resources and ... the all important ... MONEY. You don't really believe in the program or in your ability to duplicate other successful people. Run ... no, don't walk... RUN away from this opportunity! Although the opportunity may be working for others, it is NOT right for YOU.

If you answered E... You have found yourself the perfect opportunity for YOU. However, you may still have an inner monster to deal with who won't show his face until during or after your joining. See the next step...

5. Fear

You've found the perfect opportunity for you - congratulations! You've done your due diligence, you've found the right affiliate or sponsor for you in the opportunity you've chosen, and you're ready to take that leap of faith....

UH OH!

For some reason, proscrastination sets in.

"It must not be the right day - I'll do it tomorrow."

Tomorrow arrives... and you're still not ready to move! What's going on???? You review steps one through four above...

"Okay, everything is cool, everything is lined up just the way I wanted and planned."

Yet everyone you've shared this with doesn't have your belief system and are talking you out of it ... And you're still not moving.

You think to yourself, "WHAT'S UP????? I speak truthfully about what I want... I have goals that say I want what I want... I even wrote them down! Everything lines up but ME... What's the problem?!!!!"

Does this sound familiar?

The you that is currently YOU is having some doubts about your decision to become someone who does something differently.

==>> THAT's ALL.

Whenever you make a decision to achieve something greater (in the form of money, relationships, ANYTHING), you KNOW that you have to DO things differently than you ever have before in order to GET those different results.

You're looking at uncharted territory here for you... the UNKNOWN. You've already come to the point of KNOWING this opportunity and means of inviting others is right for you, and yet... you haven't experienced it yet. And part of you is looking for a way out, and finding all sorts of thoughts and people to back it up!

I can't tell you how many people I have encountered in my life who have gone ALL THIS WAY and ... STOPPED right here ... only to repeat the entire pattern with some other opportunity.

LIGHT BULB MOMENT!

When you've come this far (all the way to step five!), the only way to defeat fear is to face it and do the thing you're afraid of. Send the money, join, begin the steps to success you already have the ability to make. That and ONLY that will calm the fear beast within.

==>> The next opportunity won't quell it.

==>> The next sponsor won't eradicate it.

ONLY YOU CAN erase that fear by your OWN actions.

Face it. Do it... and do it over and over again until it becomes second nature. At that point, guess what? Fear is no longer present! In fact, you're now teaching others how to walk through their fear because you now have the experience of doing so yourself.

Congratulations. Your bank account balance has now also changed because of YOUR actions. And the people who decide to join with you in your opportunity experience those changes in their lives too. The dominoes continue to fall as check book balances rise everywhere.

Isn't that a beautiful thing? And aren't you proud of YOU for facing and moving through the fear? And look at how the world has benefitted by you doing so!

Why Your Prospect Already Knows....

This post was written in a public MLM forum by Tony Rush, and I have found it to be so true in my own life (as well as others that I know), that I wanted to share it. This information may help you understand what's happening in your own life. Enjoy!

I was talking with a multi-millionaire marketer a few months ago who shared a valuable insight with me. It's really changed how I approach the conversations with my prospects.

Here's what he said: A prospect already knows if he's going to join or not before he ever goes to the presentation call.

He said this in passing, in the middle of a larger conversation. And before I could ask him to clarify what he meant, we both had to hang up. My wife and I were walking through Lenox Square Mall in Atlanta at the time and I must've had a strange look on my face because Jessica asked what I was thinking.

I said, "______ just said that the prospect already knows if they're going to join before they go to a presentation call. How could they? They don't know anything about the pay plan, the company, the startup costs, etc. I'll have to think about this...."

It was obvious that I disagreed with the statement. But, I'm as coachable and trainable as I ask others to be. So, when I hear a multi-millionaire say something like that, it's in my OWN best interest to examine his thinking and mine to find out where MINE is probably askew.

So, I thought about it. For a couple of weeks. And the next time he and I got a chance to talk, I asked him to elaborate a little more. And the concept he was explaining became crystal clear. And I agree with him 100%. A prospect DOES know if they're going to join before they ever go and look at the presentation.

The concept is based on what has been called "the most valuable drawing in the world" -- by Dr. Thurman Fleet, the founder of Concept Therapy. It's been used in thousands of workshops and seminars by Bob Proctor. The picture is that of a stick figure with tiny antennae on his head.

The concept is this: you are constantly broadcasting a non-verbal signal. It's not body-language which can only be seen. Instead, this is a form of thought-energy that is constantly broadcasting the state of your Being. Are you confident? Are you discouraged? Are you hopeful? Expectant? Certain? Angry? Frustrated? Worried?

Likewise, these antennae are also receiving information. You can prove this to yourself by thinking about the times when you have been with someone and said "I don't get a good 'vibe' around this person". Vibe is nothing but an abbreviated version of "vibration".

This signal cannot be faked. It always represents who you are really Being in that exact moment.

So, when you're prospecting, no matter what you're saying and how you're behaving, your prospect is ALWAYS getting an accurate signal of your current state of mind. And here's a key point: They have no idea that they're receiving this. Not consciously at least. But it's the reason why they agree to go to a presentation or not. In many cases, they're not even sure why they said 'yes' to you and 'no' to the last people who called. Or you'll say and do everything right and they simply will not "get a good vibe" and won't know why. They'll simply not see any point in moving forward. Or else they'll go to the presentation but you won't be able to reach them afterwards.

And here's why: we always find what we're looking for. When you're sending the right signal, people are irresistably attracted to you. They perceive you as being the person that can help them get out of what they're into. And they go to the presentation looking for reasons to join. And since we always find what we're looking for, they will see an opportunity for themselves in your company.

Conversely, if they pick up a vibe that is weak, negative or wrong in some way.....if they go to the presentation at all, they're looking for reasons why they should NOT join. And any excuse will do when someone is looking for a reason why NOT to do something.

Don't miss the simplicity of this. Who you are BEING is the core factor in being a powerful enroller. If you are wondering why people aren't joining your business....it's because you're telling them not to. And if you are enrolling people regularly, you already know why that is. Because you're in a high state of vibration and people are responding to you and what you're offering.

So, it's not your leads.
It's not the company.
It's not the pay plan.
It's not your upline.
It's not even the presenter.

It's you.

So, the question becomes: what signal are YOU broadcasting? And if it's not the right one, how quickly can you change it?
